日本政府は 2026年3月10日、入管法（にゅうかんほう）の改定案を決め、国会に出しました。

この法律には、在留資格の手続きの手数料を大きく引き上げる内容が入っています。

予定されている内容は次のとおりです。

  　今：上限 1万円
  　→ これから：上限 10万円
• ●永住許可の手続き
  　今：上限 1万円
  　→ これから：上限 30万円

実際の金額は、あとで政府が決めます。

私たち移住連は、このような大きな引き上げは、日本で生活している外国人にとって大きな負担になると考えています。
そのため、この法律の改正に反対する声明を出しました。

The fees for residence status procedures in Japan are expected to increase significantly.

On March 10, 2026, the Japanese government approved a bill to amend the Immigration Control Act and submitted it to the Diet.

This bill includes provisions to substantially raise the fees for residence status procedures.

The proposed changes are as followed:

●Procedures for extension or change of residence status
Current: Maximum 10,000 yen→ Proposed: Maximum 100,000 yen

●Procedure for permanent residence permission
Current: Maximum 10,000 yen→ Proposed: Maximum 300,000 yen

The actual fee amounts will be decided later by the government.

We at the Solidarity Network with Migrants Japan (SMJ) believe that such a large increase would place a serious burden on foreign nationals living in Japan.
For this reason, we have issued a statement opposing this amendment to the law.
