「毎年12月18日は国連の定める「国際移住者デー」です。2016年の同国際デーを記念して、恒例の「多民族・多文化な祭典」記念イベントを開催します。2013年の「HAFU」、2014年の「ア・エスコーリャ」、2015年の「バベルの学校」に続き、2016年は「オキュパイ・ベーカリー～ファストフード労働者の闘い」を上映します。」

多民族・多文化な料理を楽しみながら、「国際移住者デー」や「多民族・多文化共生」について、一緒に考えてみませんか？今年はとくに多くの移住者・移住労働者の方たちに参加していただきたいと思っています。

＜国際移住者デーとは？＞

1990年12月18日に国連にて「すべての移住労働者およびその家族の権利の保護に関する国際条約」が採択されたことを記念して定められました。外国籍住民が増加している日本でも本条約の批准や、外国人人権基本法等といった法整備が早期に求められています。

International Migrant’s Day Event is Coming Back!

December 18th is “International Migrant’s Day” proclaimed by United Nations. So we will hold the event “Multi Ethnic/ Cultural Festival” as the annual celebration of this day.This year, we will screen “The Hand That Feeds” following “A Escolla” in 2014, and “School of Babel” in 2015.
Also, migrant workers in Japan will talk about their fights. How about considering about “Migrant Workers” with Asian food?

＜What’s International Migrant’s day?＞

The UN General Assembly proclaimed December 18th as “International Migrant’s day” in commemoration of adopting “International Convention on the Protection of the Rights of All Migrant Workers and Members of Their Families” by them on 18th December 1990. Japan, with increasing number of migrants, should also consider to ratify this convention without delay and enact basic laws related migrants rights.
